quotes I guess so, just need to watch out in the smaller sprockets out back if the ring is further inboard. The chain could rub off the plastic either side of the jockey pulley or just not shift as smoothly

quotes I had a setup like that on an old bike, once you get a chainring on it if it lines up with your bottom roller its fine. Just make sure you have the bolts threaded a decent way in - i hit a rock halfway down ft bill and it tore the threads right out the frame since only 1 or 2 were engaged.

quotes A word of advice, don't go with their settings on chainline. The main reason i asked what yours was is purely to see how much more spacers would be needed. E13 advised only 1mm or so of spacers whereas i needed to use 2.5 so its all about trial and error with it. If the chainring lines up nicely with the bottom runner/pulley then just go with that - it can take a second to find the ideal setup or hours depending on how fidgety it is. Just add a spacer, slide the crank in and see if it lines up. If its too far either way just add or remove tiny spacers until its spot on

quotes I was lucky to get mine fitting so nicely without much hastle, its all about trial and error but use the wee gold washers you got with the guide or even got to a B&Q and get some M6 washers to play about with setting up

quotes Yep its the wee black ones that come with the guide, they line up perfectly using the 2 spacers on the bb. The chainline may be different on my SLX cranks to your XTR cranks so it may still not line up spot on. The SLX chainline is 46.8mm but if your cranks were originally triples then it may be a 50mm chainline on yours so you might need more spacers...

quotes I can take a pic if your wanting to see it, what crank and guide setup are you running?

pete-c commented under pete-c's photo ( Jan 6, 2012 at 10:40 )
quotes Running it as should be, 2 spacers on drive and 1 on the non drive and it runs fine. The bottom guide pulley sits perfectly in line with the chainring
